His Excellency Prime Minister Adil Abd Al-Mahdi spoke via phone with the Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, renewing his condolence and consolation to the Government and the People of fraternal Egyptian, sympathizing with the families of the victims of a train collision in the Ramses station in Cairo.

His Excellency confirmed that what happens to the people of Egypt affect the Iraqi people, praying to Allah for the victims of the tragic accident to hold them in his mercy, and wishing for the wounded a quick recovery.

Foreign Minister Mohamad A. Alhakim met with UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Mr. Filippo Grandi in Geneva on the sidelines of the 40th session of the Human Rights Council.

The meeting discussed the humanitarian situation in Iraq and stressed the need of Iraq for the efforts of the United Nations and humanitarian organizations because the legacy of the war on terror was very strong on the Iraqis and called for the importance of expanding the work of the UNHCR and providing more necessary supplies for displaced families , expressing thanks and appreciation for the efforts... Foreign Minister Mohamad A. Alhakim delivered Iraq's speech at the high-level meeting of the Conference on Disarmament in Geneva, in which he affirmed the Iraqi Government's adherence to disarmament, non-proliferation and disarmament treaties to promote peace and global stability.

Foreign Minister Mohamad A. Alhakim stressed that Iraq has presented many martyrs in the war against terrorism in defense of their country's land and unity: stating Iraq's determination to be a starting point for enhancing security and peace between different cultures and religions as a member of the Human Rights Council.

The Minister expressed the keenness of Iraq to disseminate the culture of human rights, especially in institutions that are responsible for law enforcement.

President Barham Saleh accompanied by Foreign Minister Mohamad A. Alhakim attended the meeting with Austrian Chancellor Mr. Sebastian Kurz in the presence of the Ministers of Trade and Culture on the sidelines of the LAS-European Summit in Sharm El-Sheikh.

The meeting discussed the bilateral relations between the two countries, economic cooperation and reconstruction especially in the field of infrastructure, and mutual support in international issues of common concern.
