Foreign Minister Mohamad A. Alhakim confirmed that the government dealt with the demonstrations that Iraq witnessed as true demands, so it made quick measures to meet these demands and formed sub-committees in the Governorates to determine the needs and made direct dialogue.

Foreign Minister Mr. Mohamad A. Alhakim met with the Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud.

The two sides discussed ways to strengthen relations between the two brotherly countries, and ways to activate cooperation in various fields, including the political and economic fields, especially in the field of establishing industrial zones, electrical connectivity and investment companies.

Foreign Minister Mr. Mohamad A. Alhakim handed over antiquities to the Minister of Culture and Tourism , Mr. Abdul Amir Al-Hamdani that had been acquired by the Foreign Ministry from several countries through coordination between the Iraqi embassies with the countries in which these antiquities were taken from Iraq by illegal means.

The two sides discussed the importance of activating security and intelligence cooperation, and exchanging information between the two countries in the field of combating terrorism.

Foreign Minister Mr. Mohamad A. Alhakim met with Mr. Geir Pedersen , the UN special envoy to Syria.

Minister Alhakim stressed the importance of resolving the Syrian crisis by peaceful means, and relying on dialogue in order to reach a peaceful solution to the crisis, expressing Iraq’s welcome of the initiatives that lead to ending the conflict and cease-fire, while stressing the importance of the Syrian-Syrian solution.

Foreign Minister Mr. Mohamad A. Alhakim Ali met with Ambassador of People’s Republic of China to Baghdad Mr. Zhang Tao.
Minister Alhakim praised the efforts of the Ambassador in supporting Iraqi-Chinese relations, expressing his hope that the relations will reach advanced stages of strategic nature in a manner that meets the aspirations of the two friendly peoples, and achieve their common interests in progress, prosperity, and development.

Meeting with US Central Command Chief General Kenneth McKenzie today in Baghdad, President Salih highlighted the need to develop friendly relations between Iraq and US in addition to coordinate and collaborate in the fight against terrorism.
Furthermore, he underlined that Iraq will not be a theatre of regional and international conflicts.
We, therefore, seek to build good relations with all states and we have no interest in being dragged into conflicts not of our choice and making, President Salih added.
