Launch of the Third Edition of "Study in Iraq": A New Gateway for International Students

The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research – Directorate of Scholarships and Cultural Relations is pleased to announce the launch of the third edition of the “Study in Iraq” program, through a dedicated online application platform designed to attract international students to Iraqi universities.
As part of Iraq’s broader vision to internationalize higher education, this program aims to foster cultural diversity in academia and promote global understanding and cooperation through education.
This year, 67 public and private universities and colleges are offering a total of 16,574 academic seats across a wide range of disciplines and academic levels (Bachelor’s, Higher Diploma, Master’s, and PhD).
Scholarship Types:

1- Full Scholarships: Cover full tuition fees, visa and residency fees, housing, and health insurance.

2- Partial Scholarships: Provide financial support covering 50% of tuition fees.

3- Self-Funded Study: A cost-effective opportunity to study in a culturally rich environment with advanced academic programs and lower overall costs compared to many other countries.
Application Timeline:

  • Graduate Studies: From April 30, 2025 through mid-June 2025
  • Undergraduate Studies: Open until early September 2025

Program Statistics:
This edition includes 8,597 full scholarships and 7,838 partial scholarships, offering a total of 16,435 seats for international applicants.
The “Study in Iraq” initiative marks a significant milestone in positioning Iraq as an emerging hub for higher education, committed to providing quality academic experiences in a welcoming and diverse cultural setting.
