Ambassador Al-Khairallah Explores Agricultural Cooperation with the State of Iowa

As part of the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq’s ongoing efforts to strengthen economic and agricultural cooperation between Iraq and the United States, Ambassador Nazar Al-Khairallah visited the Iowa Farm Bureau in collaboration with the National U.S.–Arab Chamber of Commerce (NUSACC).
During the visit, Ambassador Al-Khairallah met with Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mr. Mike Naig, Iowa Farm Bureau Vice President Mr. Brian Feldpausch, and a group of experts and specialists in the trade and export of corn, soybeans, and other agricultural commodities.
The discussions focused on expanding agricultural cooperation between Iraq and the State of Iowa, developing partnerships in sustainable agriculture, investment, and trade exchange, and exploring opportunities for U.S. agricultural exports and knowledge-sharing in advanced technologies and smart production systems.
Ambassador Al-Khairallah reaffirmed the Iraqi government’s commitment to strengthening national capabilities in food security and sustainable development, emphasizing that cooperation with the United States—particularly with leading agricultural states such as Iowa—serves as a key pillar for transferring expertise and technology to support Iraqi agricultural institutions and joint research projects.
