Today, the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Washington marked the Victory Day over the terrorist organization ISIS, in a ceremony honoring the noble sacrifices of the martyrs who gave their lives in defense of the nation.
The embassy staff began the commemoration with a moment of silence and the recitation of Al-Fatiha for the souls of the fallen heroes, reaffirming that this day represents a lasting national milestone that embodies the unity of Iraqis in confronting terrorism.
Members of the diplomatic staff participated in the ceremony, which served as a renewal of pride in the heroic achievements of Iraq’s security forces in all their formations, and as an expression of Iraq’s appreciation for the partnership with friends in the International Coalition to Defeat ISIS, whose support contributed to achieving this historic victory.
